SUBWAY FOODS UNDER 12'S ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE
Games played on Saturday 23rd February.
Blackhawks 6 v Maple leafs 1
It was a very exciting game with lots of goals .
Ross McArdle age 8, got his very first hat trick, with his brother
Dean and Stefan McNulty getting in on the goal action.
Sean Coleman, assisted by Daniel Finley scored the leafs only goal.
The Maple Leafs fought hard to try and make up the goal difference,
but Christian McEvoy, net minder for the Blackhawks had an outstanding
game ensuring that only 1 goal passed by him.
This win brings Blackhawks to the top of the league standings.
Red Wings 4 v Bruins 5
This game turned out to be a nail bitting game. Liam Goss and
Darragh Bond scored a goal each to have the Red Wings leading.
David Sally and Chris Lynch replied from the Bruins to have the
game all tied. Darren Murphy then scored to put the Bruins in front.
The Red Wings lost their net minder, Nathan McCaughley to
an injury in the final period. Daniel McArdle stepped up and took over from
Nathan in goals. David Sally from the Bruins scored
twice in quick sucession to bring the score to 5-2 to the Bruins,
but Sean McGrane refused to give up and scored two goals for the Red Wings.
Unfortunately it wasn't enough for the Red Wings and the final
whistle blew with the Bruins taking the win.
